Sevilla continue their good form
Deportivo Alaves got their first points of the season, showing they have life and will not be relegated without a fight. Their 2-0 triumph over Levante came as Gianni Di Biasi debuted as their manager, with goals from Barcelona loanee Munir El-Haddadi and Alvaro Medran.
At the other end of the table, Barcelona kept on going even without a crowd and are 5 points clear at the top of the table. They won 3-0 against Las Palmas, with Lionel Messi getting a brace and staying atop the goalscoring charts with 11 goals.
Sliding up to second place is Sevilla, who bounced back after losing to Atletico Madrid last week with a 2-0 win over Malaga.
Malaga are now last, two points behind Alaves. Meanwhile, Atleti drew yet another game, this time 0-0 against Leganes.
The wildest match of the weekend was a 4-4 draw between REal Sociedad and Real Betis.
Tonny Sanabria scored for Betis with just six minutes on the clock, but La Real turned it around in a flash. Willian Jose equalized before Mikel Oyarzabal made it 2-1 for the visitors. And then Betis struck back, immediately, with Zouhair Feddal making it 2-2 in the 28th minute. And just after halftime, Joaquin scored to make it 3-2 to Betis.
Real Sociedad mainstay Xabi Prieto made it 3-3 in the 57th, but even that wasn't the end. Sergio Leon put Betis ahead 4-3, in the 84th, but of course that wasn't the last of it. Diego Llorente equalized, for the final time, in the 86th, 4-4. La Liga is boring, don't you know?
