Recent speculation is wide of the mark apparently
Do not expect Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly to be arriving at Camp Nou any time soon as Barcelona can’t afford him, that’s according to his agent Bruno Satin.
Defenders seem to have been on the agenda in recent days and we brought you an update earlier on how the club could bring in two new center-backs.
Yerry Mina has long been linked with Barca but Koulibaly’s name has also cropped up, along with a reported price tag of €60 million.
Yet Satin has played down talk of a move to Barcelona for Koulibaly, who has helped Napoli to a superb start to the season, top of Serie A and still unbeaten in the Italian top flight.
“I am confident in Madrid’s interest in him, not Barcelona’s. I do not think Barca have the money to buy Koulibaly. Newspapers in Barcelona link him, but I would not give heed to that news.
“I would not be surprised if someone asked for Koulibaly, but he is focused on Napoli so it is not a problem. Kalidou is heading into the matches with Sassuolo and Manchester City In England.”
“[Koulibaly] is an important piece in Napoli’s puzzle. Thanks also to Sarri who gives him responsibility and confidence.”

Barcelona’s defence has been rock solid this season and Samuel Umtiti has played a big role in that.
Finding the right long-term partner for the Frenchman definitely looks to be on the agenda at the moment - who do you think Barca should go for?
