Rumors: Fernandez watches Eriksen, Kane & Martial plus Mbappe wanted Barcelona move

The gossip just keeps on coming...

Robert Fernandez scouts Eriksen & Kane

Today’s rumors start with Robert Fernandez who has been incredibly busy in the past few days apparently.

Yesterday Mundo Deportivo reported that Fernandez was at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night to watch Real Madrid’s 1-1 Champions League draw.

And the reason for his visit? Well, to keep an eye on both Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen, the duo just two of several players the club are looking at right now.

And Martial...

However, today’s Mundo brings an update, Fernandez also popped over to Lisbon yesterday to catch Anthony Martial in action for Manchester United against Benfica.

The Frenchman appeared as a second-half substitute for the Red Devils as they won 1-0, to make it three wins from three in the Champions League.

Martial has been in fine form this season, but is still not a regular starter, which could give Barca hope they can land the 21-year-old.

Mbappe wanted Barcelona move

Meanwhile, Cadena Cope reckon that Kylian Mbappe wanted to move to Barcelona last summer, before signing for Paris Saint-Germain.

According to agent Josep Maria Minguella. Mbappe didn’t initially want to go to Paris and also wasn’t keen on Real Madrid, as he felt he wouldn’t be a regular.

Apparently Barcelona could have snapped up the teenager for a deal worth €120 million plus €30m in variables.

De Ligt is Barca’s top target

And finally we head back to Mundo Deportivo who report that Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt has emerged as a top target for Barca.

The Dutch teenager is described as being a good fit for the Blaugrana, and would be an affordable option, even if Yerry Mina arrives in January.

Barca have been looking at other central defensive options, but at the moment at least, it seems De Ligt is leading the way.
