Claudio Bravo is the most likely to start for FC Barcelona in their third game of the preseason against Napoli, on Wednesday. And he sees it as his big opportunity to make enough impact to gain Luis Enrique's confidence and get the starting job as Barça's goalkeeper.
In a press conference before the trip to Switzerland for the match, Bravo is confident that hard work will pay off and he believes all three goalies have great chances to be the number one keeper:
"Luis Enrique didn't comment anything with us, and he shouldn't. He's the coach, he makes the decisions. As players, we have to make it hard on him so he has trouble to make the decision, because everyone is good enough to play here. He'll decide, and we need to accept it.
The important thing is that everyone is working hard and we all like each other and fell comfortable around each other. The way the group has received the new guys is incredible. We're all working hard and that's what you've got to do so you can be ready whenever the coach needs you to play.
To me, it doesn't really matter which guy starts. The team success is what matters. Of course I'm working hard to get the most chances possible, but the group comes first. And we're happy together. Hopefully we all have success."
For the first time in a long time, Barça has three really good GKs. Whether it's Ter Stegen, Bravo or Jordi Masip, the team will have a world-class guy defending the shots. Bravo is the most experienced of them, and his leadership is fundamental.
But to him, being the starter matters. That was his position his whole career. Tonight, he gets the opportunity.
