The Catalans are back in La Liga action

Barcelona will be out for revenge against Cadiz on Sunday when Álvaro Cervera’s side visit the Camp Nou in La Liga.

Ronald Koeman’s side were beaten 2-1 by Cadiz earlier in the campaign and will have a point to prove as they also seek to get back on track after a big defeat to PSG last time out.

Barca head into the match nine points behind Atletico but still with a bit of hope given the league leaders have dropped points recently and have a tough run of games ahead.

Let’s look at how they might line-up:

Defense

There’s still no Sergi Roberto or Ronald Araujo in defense, but Gerard Pique is an option again after making his comeback in midweek. The center-back trained on Friday and doesn’t seem to have suffered any ill-effects from his first outing in three months.

Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti are also options in central defense, while Oscar Mingueza could feature or may start at right-back. Sergino Dest is also back from injury but had a pretty tough night in midweek against Kylian Mbappe.

Midfield

We all know Koeman’s preferred midfield trio by now and they are likely to start again unless any injuries crop up or the Barca boss feels any of his players need a rest.

Miralem Pjanic and Riqui Puig are also available if needed, and came on in the second half against PSG but are likely to start on the bench once again.

Attack

There may be changes in attack with Francisco Trincao pushing for a place in the starting XI after scoring three goals in his last two La Liga outings. The youngster could replace Ousmane Dembele in attack.

Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann are likely to start as Koeman goes in search of a win to boost morale, although Martin Braithwaite is an option as well if needed.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Dest, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; De Jong, Busquets, Pedri; Trincao, Messi, Griezmann.
