The Real Sociedad forward could make a move
FC Barcelona could have their Luis Suárez replacement in Real Sociead striker Alexander Isak. Martin Braithwaite has been the Catalan’s only #9 since the Uruguayan’s departure, and Barcelona’s interest in the Swedish forward to bolster the frontline, which has been rumored in the past, has reportedly intensified.
Financial constraints reportedly prevented Barcelona from signing Memphis Depay, a player Ronald Koeman was said to want desperately when he joined the Catalans. The manager knows Depay from their time together in the national team.
Barcelona’s presidential candidates are said to know that a striker is necessary to bolster the squad, and sporting director Ramón Planes is tracking several options, one of which is said to be the 21-year-old Isak.
The young forward has a release clause of 70 million euro, but it is said that Borussia Dortmund have an option on Isak worth 30 million. This is an option Dortmund could use, especially if they sell Erling Braut Haaland.
Haaland himself has been linked with Barcelona, although any potential signing depends on Barcelona’s economic situation.
