The elections are just two weeks away
Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa decided to throw anything he could out into the press this week. Freixa was asked about Barca’s current fiduciary situation and gave a thoughtful answer.
“We’ve been working on an agreement for a while and have now closed one that will bring in €250 million for 49 percent of Barca Corporate,” he said.
“And for the 2021-22 season (we will invest that money in) two difference-makers in attack and a great defender. The message is that Barça will have the competitive team that they have to have and that the supporters want. I’m talking in real terms, we will have the most competitive squad for next season.

He was then questioned about PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, who just put up a hat-trick on Barca, and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. Now, let’s be fair to Frexia for a second, perhaps he was just hoping for a quote or was taken out of context.
However, the possibility of signing Mbappe is zero, and Haaland is going to be a struggle in of itself. So framing it as getting both seem a bit mad.
“We won’t speak about players until they’re signed, because it’s not a good strategy and other clubs could ruin negotiations.
“But it’s absolutely possible. It’s what Barça must do. Bring in players who can make the difference.”
