The Barça full-back talked about many topics on his pregame presser
Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba spoke to the press ahead of the Blaugrana's Champions League opener against Celtic on Tuesday, and the Barça full-back was in good form at his presser, answering many questions about a variety of topics.
Alba spoke mainly about Barça's recent Champions League success, which led to two historic Trebles, and the Blaugrana star hopes to have more glories:
"What we [Barça] have achieved in recent seasons has been very difficult. We've won so many trophies but we want many more. To win the first treble was a great achievement but with lots of effort and self sacrifice we won another. That was historic. Nobody else has done it. But there are new players here now, with pride and hunger, and we want to continue winning the big trophies. We want to win every competition we enter.
“We are motivated for all competitions. We want to win every title, as many as we can. That’s the way we are. We want to get people excited game after game.”

Alba was also asked about Tuesday's match against Celtic, and Jordi believes his team needs to be aggressive and look for the win all game long.
“We’ve seen Celtic play. It will be tough to create opportunities against them, but that’s what we are here for. It’s important to have a good start to the competition and get the 3 points.
“We need to have the ball. We need to be aggressive, to recover the ball, and to try and create opportunities."
The disappointing loss to Alavés last weekend is still a tough pill to swallow, but Alba thinks the short rest (only three days) ahead of the Celtic game is a good thing, because it gives Barça the chance to have a good win and forget about Saturday's tough result:
“Playing every 3 days is a benefit because you are more fit. And when you lose, like Saturday, you don’t have time to dwell on it."
Finally, Alba was asked about the competition within the club's deep squad. The arrival of French full-back Lucas Digne brings a real competitor for Alba's spot, and Jordi doesn't see it as a negative thing, but something that helps him get better.
“Internal competition has always been there. It’s what’s best for the team and myself because it will keep us alert. It’s a positive thing. I feel good and fit. Of course nobody wants to fall out the starting line-up, but I had competition with Adriano [the last several seasons]. The coach is the one who decides."
