Barcelona right-back Dani Alves called up to Brazil Copa America squad

The good news just keep on coming for Dani Alves.

After winning his third Champions League and signing a new contract with Barcelona, the Brazilian right-back is returning to his national team. Alves will replace Danilo, the new Real Madrid signing, who had to be cut from the Brazil squad for the Copa América due to a right ankle sprain.

Brazil's football federation announced the news on Wednesday night:

"Brazil coach Dunga called, on Wednesday night, the Barcelona right-back Dani Alves for the 2015 Copa América in Chile.

Danilo, who suffered a right ankle sprain, is cut from the squad and will leave the team on Thursday. After that, he'll travel to Bicas, Minas Gerais [Danilo's hometown]. Then he will travel to Madrid, to continue the treatment on his ankle with his team, Real Madrid."

Alves, who had a terrible World Cup, enjoyed a revival season at his club, but it seemed like his era as right-back had ended with new coach, Dunga. But, as luck would have it, he's back. Dani has already traveled to Chile to join the squad. Brazil begins its Copa América campaign on Sunday against Peru.
