Gerard Deulofeu Does Not Want to be Loaned Again Next Season

When Gerard Deulofeu returned to Barcelona from Everton, many expected that his development period at the Premier League could have been good enough to earn him a permanent spot at the senior team. However, during the preseason, coach Luis Enrique publicly expressed his disapproval of the 20-year-old forward, and he hinted at the possibility of Deulofeu being loaned again to learn more somewhere else.

So the La Masía phenom was loaned to Sevilla, and hopefully he would find a good place to finally develop into a Barça A product. Since his arrival, Deulofeu's ride has been an inconsistent one, and his numbers are not really encouraging. In 18 appearances, eight of them coming off the bench, Gerard has scored three goals, dishing out another six assists in the process. With an average of 49 minutes played per contest, it seems like Deulo has not really earned the trust of his coach, Unai Emery, and his performances at the first half of this season don't really raise expectations of a potential return to the Blaugrana as a full-time employee.

Even though he hasn't really played that well, the Blonde Neymar (sorry) is not thinking about being loaned away from Barcelona again next season, and he wants to prove that he's good enough to stay with the seniors and be a permanent part of the squad in the 2015-16 campaign.

"I don't want to think about a possible new loan, I'd rather focus on this important year for me. Whatever happens next year is going to happen. But being loaned again is definitely something I do not want."

On the one hand, it is very good to see his determination to be at Barça next season. What he did at the B-team before the move to England was spectacular, and the potential is clearly there. Both at Everton and Sevilla, he's shown flashes of brilliance that has everyone wondering how good this kid can become.

On the other hand, Deulofeu needs to be way more consistent than he has been if he really wants to be a Blaugrana. A good performance here and there won't get him a permanent spot at the roster for next season, or any other season for that matter. He needs to show enough consistency to convince Luis Enrique that he needs Deulofeu on his team.

What do you think of Deulo, Blaugranes? Is he another Bojan or can he grow into a star for Barça?
