Cristiano Ronaldo Snaps At Catalan Journalist, Needs To Chill Out

We get it Cristiano, it isn't fun to give interviews after a bad loss, but there's no reason to be so rude

A relatively innocuous question after a disappointing defeat; that was all it took last night for Cristiano Ronaldo to snap in the mixed zone and insult a Catalan journalist, Sebas Guim of TV3. Of course, it must be difficult for players to face the media after a defeat, particularly such a heavy defeat to your local rivals and fellow title contenders. On occasions, journalists will ask stupid questions as well -- just a few weeks ago our mixed zones interviews featured idiotic questions about Lionel Messi moving to Chelsea -- so yes, I understand that it might be tough for a player to remain civil.

Yet in spite of all this, players seem to control their tempers very well; rarely do we get a story about any old player slamming a journalist -- let alone one involving the 2014 FIFA Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Taking offense to Sebas' line of questioning about his dismissal against Cordoba, Ronaldo pretty much lost the plot. He refused to answer the question and proceeded to insult Guim's intelligence -- which was rather ironic given that he erroneously claimed the incident was three months ago. Bizarre to say the least, especially as he was welcoming questions about the game despite his poor performance and Real's capitulation.
