'Qatar Airways' Camp Nou? It could be a reality soon

OH CRAP, DON'T DO IT, PLEASE DON'T

How would you feel if you woke up one day and discovered that Barcelona has sold the naming rights of Camp Nou to a company that will change the name of the club's historical stadium? You're right, this is a nightmare, but it could become reality, sooner rather than later.

During a commercial press conference with Barça representatives (Neymar Jr. and Gerard Piqué, among others), Qatar Airways counselor Akbar Al Baker suggested that it's possible that the new agreement between the airline company and the Catalan club could involve acquiring the naming rights to Camp Nou.

"Everything is possible for our company, we remain open to surprises and one of them could involve the name of the Camp Nou."

Javier Faus, Barça's economical vice-president, also hinted at the possibility of a new contract with Qatar Airways:

"We need a new sponsor, we have zero problems with Qatar, which is why I think it would be a stress-free process and a quick decision."

Barcelona and Qatar Airways are working on a new sponsorship agreement, which currently gives the Blaugrana a €30 million/year income. Barça wants to raise that investiment to €50 million per season, and the deal could be confirmed in the near future.

Just don't mess with the name Camp Nou, please. It is sacred. Let's please have something in our club that doesn't have "Qatar" written all over it for once.
