The striker knew his time was coming.
After almost a month since his debut, Luis Suárez finally scored his first official goal as a Barcelona player. Prior to that, he had assisted four goals in five games in the Blaugrana uniform, but a striker's job is, of course, striking and putting the ball into the net.
But, differently from what one would think, Luisito was not suffering from anxiety thinking about when his first goal would happen. In a post-game interview to Catalan TV channel TV3, Suárez talked about his goal, and Lionel Messi's record-breaking night.
"I know that the goal was going to come, sooner or later. I was very calm about it, and because of that, I wasn't anxious. My only objective was to help the team. This goal is a natural consequence. We had a very good first half, the team performed well, and we got a nice result.
Messi is unreal, no doubt. Me and Messi already understand each other pretty well, doesn't matter who's playing on the wing or as a CF. The important thing is to help the team."
I'm sorry, Suárez, but I'm not buying this thing of not being anxious. Not at all.
