Lionel Messi has broken the record for most goals scored in the Spanish League
51 minutes. That's how long Lionel Messi and Telmo Zarra were tied at the top of the all-time La Liga goalscorers list. With the pressure of "the hunt" now behind him Messi was able to continue the game in a more calm manner, and that immediately showed on the pitch. Messi was buzzing around the net and in the 72nd minute the Argentine put Zarra in his rear-view mirror, scoring goal number 252 by tapping the ball into the back of the net.

It wasn't one of Messi's prettiest goals in his career, heck, it wasn't even his prettiest goal of the game, but it is a goal that will be eternally remembered as the goal that broke a record that stood for almost 60 years. And Messi's teammates agreed that it was a goal for the ages.
Messi celebrated the goal in probably the only way he knows how - by scoring another goal to bring his career tally to 253.
Congratulations Leo!
