Luis Enrique has announced his squad for this evening’s game with Celta Vigo (8.00 PM CET) at the Camp Nou. The squad of eighteen includes seventeen from the first team plus Munir from the reserves. Missing out are Piqué, Montoya, Vermaelen, Masip and Douglas, the latter despite being declared fully fit this week, and the injured Andrés Iniesta.

FC Barcelona v Celta Vigo: Tough test for the leaders | FC Barcelona

Barça and Luis Enrique face another tough test on Saturday. After losing at the Bernabéu last week, they need three points to ensure that they at least continue having a share of the lead in La Liga with fellow table-toppers Sevilla. But they’re facing a Celta side that has not lost on the road this season, and which contains no fewer than four former members of its own academy in Nolito, Fontàs, Sergi Gómez and Planas.

Luis Enrique: "Celta is a very special match for me" | FC Barcelona

Luis Enrique doesn’t believe that Celta will either be an especially easy game to prepare for, because he knows the team so well, or a particularly hard one because of the quality of one of the surprise packages of the Liga season so far and who have yet to lose an away fixture. "But there’s no doubt that Celta is a very special match for me because I know all the players" said the man who was in charge of the Vigo based club before coming to Barça in the summer.

Luis Suarez is ready to make his competitive home debut for Barcelona against Celta Vigo | Sky Sports Football

Suarez had a muted performance against Real Madrid in the 3-1 Clasico defeat last weekend, although he did create the goal for Neymar, and also claimed an assist against Espanyol in the Catalan Super Cup in midweek. Barcelona coach Luis Enrique believes the Uruguay striker, who was banned for four months for biting during the World Cup, will soon show what an impact he can make.

Graham Hunter’s La Liga preview: A 4/1 shot that could make the Barcelona v Celta Vigo game more interesting this weekend : Paddy Power Blog

The last time Celta won away to Barcelona it was two months before the attack on Pearl Harbour, the US hadn’t entered World War II and the Camp Nou was 16 years away from hosting its first match. Not all that encouraging if you are thinking of putting all your piggy bank savings on the Galicians to inflict only Barca’s second league defeat of the season.

FC Barcelona connection triumphing at Celta | FC Barcelona

Celta’s visit to the Camp Nou will involve plenty of reunions. No fewer than four products of the Barça academy, all of which managed to make first team debuts, are now plying their trade in Vigo. Nolito and Andreu Fontàs were already there last season, and they have been joined this year by Sergi Gómez and Carles Planas.

Celta only Liga side unbeaten away | FC Barcelona

Celta Vigo are coming to the Camp Nou on the back of what has been a solid season so far. They’re comfortably poised in sixth place, six points behind leaders FC Barcelona, which would mean Europa League football next season if they can hold on to that position. And they owe much of that success to their away form. They have yet to lose a game on the road. And not one of the other 19 teams in the first division can say that.

Getafe-Barça: Saturday, December 13 at 4.00PM (CET) | FC Barcelona

The LFP have announced the kick off times for Week 15 of la Liga in which Barça travel to Getafe. The game will take place on the 13th of December at 4.00PM (CET). The visit to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez will come after an important midweek home game against Paris Saint- Germain in the Champions’ League and before the return leg of their last 32 Spanish Cup away at Huesca.

Sergi Samper was named the most promising youngster in Catalan football, mainly on the basis of his forty appearances for the B team, although he has also played some games for the first team. He won the vote ahead of team-mate Gerard Deulofeu (now on loan at Sevilla) and Espanyol’s Joan Jordan.

There has also been competition in the more unfashionable left-back slot, the one that goes unnoticed when the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale, Isco and Kroos are strutting their stuff and grabbing the headlines. Ancelotti has grown to admire Fabio Coentrao, convincing the Portuguese defender to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu last season after he announced he wanted to leave, and he started in the Champions League final victory over Atleti in May.

Madrid granted Zidane ban injunction | Football Espana

Zinidine Zidane will continue as Coach of Real Madrid Castilla for now after an injunction against his three-month ban was obtained. AS reports that Madrid, having failed in an appeal to get the punishment overturned, have succeeded in taking the case to the Sport Administrative Court, who have ruled Zidane should remain on the bench while the case is concluded.

Getafe up to ninth with 2-1 win over Deportivo | Sky Sports Football

Cosmin Contra's side came through tough conditions in the first half to nip ahead of their hosts courtesy of an own goal from Deportivo goalkeeper Ramirez Fabricio. Angel Lafita doubled their lead 20 seconds into the second half and from there it was fairly comfortable for the Azulones to hold out for the win, despite Helder Postiga grabbing a late consolation for Depor.
