The president has played down speculation
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has played down speculation Antoine Griezmann will move to the Camp Nou this summer.
The Atletico Madrid is expected to join Barcelona when his release clause reportedly drops on July 1, and CEO Gil Marin has said he’s known since March Griezmann is joining Barca.
However, Bartomeu reckons there is “nothing” to all the rumors linking Griezmann to his club.
“There’s nothing to announce,” he said. We’ve always said the same. We haven’t spoken to him. There’s nothing to it. We’ll see how the market changes in the next few days and weeks.
“We have all of June, July and August. We’re talking and planning a strategy, also keeping Barça B in mind, as there are certain players who could be promoted to the first team. There will be some new arrivals and some departures.”

Bartomeu’s comments will further fuel rumors over Griezmann’s future which looks set to dominate headlines for a second consecutive summer.
The French forward has been equally evasive about where he’s going. He initially said he knew where he would be playing next season and then backtracked by saying he“didn’t know” if he would remain in Spain.
