The international break continues and so does the gossip
Man City will pounce if Messi does not sign on
We start today with Lionel Messi and another reminder that his new contract still remains unsigned, and we are now well into October.
According to AS, it is not impossible that Messi will not renew, and if that is the case Manchester City are willing to offer Barcelona €400 million in January.
The report also says there have been discussions “with the footballer’s inner circle” although finishes off by insisting Messi is still happy at Barcelona.
Barca keen on Danilo
Over at Mundo Deportivo, there is news that Barcelona scouted Portugal midfielder Danilo in their 2-0 win over Andorra.
Apparently Roberto Fernandez was at the game to watch the Porto midfielder, who could potentially be a possible replacement for Sergio Busquets.
Danilo reportedly has a €60 million release clause, and Arsenal, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also admirers.
Barca keen to sell Alcacer, Vermaelan and Arda
Barcelona are keen to sell three players, Paco Alcacer, Thomas Vermaelen and Arda Turan, and all three could go in January, according to Sport.
Arda is the priority and could return to Galatasaray, although Barca may have to accept taking a big loss on the midfielder.
Alcacer is also surplus to requirements, having not featured since August, while Vermaelen wants to leave to boost his World Cup hopes.
Sergi Roberto to Manchester United?
And finally we end today with a look at Don Balon, who report that Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United to snap up Sergi Roberto.
Roberto is keen to play in midfield, and not at right-back, while Mourinho likes both his €40 million release clause and his versatility.
