Riechedly Bazoer is the newest Dutch pearl. The 19-year-old midfielder has burst onto the scene as another great prospect built by Ajax's youth system. He is physically impressive, tactically intelligent and great on the ball, the perfect qualities for a midfielder to succeed on the highest level.
With every new hot prospect comes a load of speculations and rumors about which European giant will win the race and make the signing of the next big football star. Bazoer is built to play in a possession-oriented team because of his passing and vision, but has the physical tools to cope with the most demanding styles.
The Premier League would be the most logical landing spot for the Dutch international, and Arsenal look like favorites to sign him in the upcoming summer transfer window. But Arsenal's biggest rivals, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, have also entered the race and are expected to make bids for the youngster.
And according to a report from the Daily Mirror, Barcelona are also interested in the player, and could end up being the team who steals Bazoer from England. The Barçajax connection is one of the main factors, along with Bazoer's past statements claiming he is a huge fan of the Catalan club and its playing style, and he would want to be a Blaugrana in the future.
Midfield is the one area on Barça's squad that doesn't need reinforcements with a deep, talented pool of players. Even though the market value is attractive (he would cost €15 million at most), Bazoer would probably be a luxury signing for the moment, and bringing him in with so many good midfielders right now could actually hurt his development.
Bazoer is a great young player (he's a beast on FIFA), but unfortunately that is one signing Barça does not need at the moment with other areas to address. Let the Premier League have him.
