With the constant rumors and a real possibility of one of Barcelona's goalkeepers leaving, the club might have already found a replacement to sign this summer.
According to reports from England, the Catalan giants have shortlisted Leicester City star goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, son of the legendary Peter Schmeichel and one of the Premier League's best goal-stoppers this season. There are no formal approaches yet, but the Blaugrana are interested in the Denmark international.
Schmeichel's potential signing depends entirely on the future of Marc-André ter Stegen. The German keeper is clearly unhappy with his minutes at Barcelona, having to sit during league games while Claudio Bravo takes the gloves. His latest statements show a clear desire of playing more, and if that isn't granted to him next season, Stegen will find a new club, and Liverpool and Manchester City have already shown their interest.
If Ter Stegen ever decides to leave and Barça agrees to let him go, then Schmeichel would be one of the priorities for a replacement. The 29-year-old has the second-most clean sheets this season and is one of the reasons why Leicester has the third best defense in the Premier League.
It is impossible to guarantee if this deal is actually happening, since it all depends on Ter Stegen's decision. But the interest is there, and we might see Schmeichel in Blaugrana colors next season.
