Lionel Messi was back in training with Barcelona on Friday morning, looking relaxed and working normally. The Argentinian had missed Thursday's session owing to a sore foot but there were no signs of discomfort as he joined in with his teammates.
The 8-0 scoreline matches the club's record win away from home, while Suarez overtakes Ronaldo's 47-goal season
Speaking at the presentation of the latest edition of the charity sports book ‘Relats Solidaris de l’esport’, Suárez went on to say that “we were the better team. We weren’t too worried because we knew we’d played a great match against Valencia and that although we missed a lot of goals, we left a good image of ourselves.”
Suarez's four-goal haul in Barca's 8-0 win at Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday helped his team regain momentum in the Primera Division title race, while it also brought the Uruguay international to 49 goals in 48 games for the club in all competitions this term. This took Suarez past the 47 goals in 49 games which Ronaldo managed when he spent the 1996-97 season at the Camp Nou, and the former Liverpool player told reporters he was proud to have bettered one of the "footballing greats."
