Aleix Vidal is ready for his first El Clásico, and he is not taking it for granted.
The new Barcelona full-back, entering his fourth month of action with the Blaugrana, spoke to the press to preview the big game against Real Madrid on Saturday, and he looked pretty excited just to talk about being involved in his first derby as a Barça player. Vidal highlighted that while his team is in great position ahead of the clash, he does not believe the favorites have already secured a victory.
Vidal also spoke about the 'MSN' trio having to play the Clásico on short notice after a tough international duty with their South American teams, and also promised to honor the late great Johan Cruyff with a great performance against Los Blancos. Here is a look at a few quotes from Vidal:
"It's obvious that to win would strike a huge blow [in the title race]. But if anyone thinks it will be easy, they are mistaken. It will be tough to repeat the result from the first meeting.
"It is a dream to be involved in this game from the inside and I hope I can play a part. It is just another game, but at the same time it's a special one.
"We dont' worry about what the other teams do. We are a step away from La Liga and we depend on what we do ourselves.
"Luis [Suarez], Leo [Messi] and Ney [Neymar] are the three best forwards in the world. The tiredness from the international break stays in the background, because the motivation [for the Clasico] is bigger.
"We hope to be able to honor Cruyff with the best performance possible and by winning the game."
