It was a good weekend for Barcelona loanees-slash-buy-backers.
FC Porto traveled to the middle of the country for a Portugal Cup match against Varzim. The Dragons lined up with mostly reserves, but still were able to get a comfortable 2-0 victory away from home to qualify for the fourth round. Barcelona loanee Cristian Tello appeared in the game, and opened the scoring for his team with a pretty fnish.
Back in Spain, Villarreal hosted Celta Vigo in a surprising battle between early title contenders. The winner would jump into the lead surpassing Barcelona and Real Madrid. Celta scored first with Fabián Orellana, but the Yellow Submarine tied the game in the second half with a goal from Denis Suárez, who was on loan from Barça at Sevilla but was bough from Villarreal, with the Blaugrana keeping a buy-back clause on his contract. What a pretty finish!
Unfortunately for Denis, that goal didn't spark a comeback win for Villarreal, with Celta getting a last-minute, game-winning goal from -- guess who -- Barcelona target Nolito.
The kiddos did good. And we need Nolito.
