After a brutal, grueling two-week international break, Barcelona finally returned to training on Wednesday with almost all squad members -- Dani Alves and Claudio Bravo are still coming back from South America -- as the team begins preparations for the weekend La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano.
The break wasn't harmful. Nobody returned hurt, and even Gerard Piqué, who had an injury scare before Spain's last game, is fine and trained normally. All the internationals are clear to play on Saturday, but one of the players who didn't travel is highly doubtful for the game at Camp Nou.
Uruguayan striker and this season's highest scorer Luis Suárez has been battling a muscle discomfort for several weeks; he is the player with most minutes in this campaign, and especially with the injury to Lionel Messi, Suárez has been working hard on every game, and even with the break to rest and treat the problem, he might not be medically cleared, and his participation on Saturday is in jeopardy.
Fortunately, this is not a real injury, it's just a minor muscular problem that occurs with any footballer that plays too many consecutive minutes. Althouth the Rayo encounter is a difficult one, coach Luis Enrique is likely to think about the long term and give El Pistolero a day off trusting that Neymar Jr., probably the only 'MSN' member available on Saturday, can do the job and give the Blaugrana a win.
