The latest from the boss ahead of Real Valladolid
Ernesto Valverde faced the press on Monday ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Real Valladolid on Tuesday at the Camp Nou.
The Barcelona boss talked about Carles Alena’s lack of game time, Samuel Umtiti’s fitness, Arthur’s improvements and of course Tuesday’s opponents.

Valverde on Valladolid
Yes they are on a nice streak, five games unbeaten. They have played well away and have got good results against Real Madrid and Granada. I remember last year’s game we suffered a lot and won 1-0, it was a tough game. I expect a Valladolid similar to what we have seen in recent games. A solid team that is difficult to overcome, and who can hurt you
Valverde on Umtiti
We’re going to wait and see what happens in training. The other day he did part of the session but I think it will be tough for him. I can’t say anything else.

It’s true he’s not playing as much as we thought he’d play. He probably deserves to play more. He gives 110 per cent in training but there’s a lot of competition for places in our team. That could change at any moment and he had to be ready.
Valverde on Carlos Vela
