The goalkeeper has been talking about the Champions League
Marc-Andre ter Stegen has given an interview to German magazine 11Freunde where he’s spoken about Barcelona’s Champions League defeats to Roma and Liverpool.
In both matches Barcelona threw away three-goal leads, and Ter Stegen reckons the losses were down to psychological rather than tactical issues.
“Those defeats can’t be put down to tactical questions,” he said. “You have to look deeply at the psychological issues around the losses.
“In the moment, we were all angry because there was no explanation. You ask yourself: how can I respond to my parents or my wife when, despite winning the first leg 3-0, we haven’t made it through?”

The two defeats seem to have badly scarred Barcelona players. Gerard Pique has spoken previously about how the Roma defeat affected the players against Liverpool, while Luis Suarez has said he “wanted to disappear from the world” after losing to the Reds.
