A conflicting report says Barça deny interest in Mateu Alemany
FC Barcelona want to sign Mateu Alemany, who is currently negotiating an exit from Valencia, according to RAC1. The general director of los che apparently has a clause that prevents him from signing with another La Liga club, although he is said to be looking to get that clause dropped so he can join the Catalans.

Alemany has fallen out with Valencia’s owner, Peter Lim, leading to the split. According to the report, Barça is already making contact with him to negotiate.
However, a Mundo Deportivo report published soon after says that Barcelona sources deny that they are currently negotiating with Alemany.
Once again according to RAC1, Alemany would be given a job in the sporting area of the club, potentially giving him a lot of power in shaping Barcelona’s squad.
He has in the past been the president of Real Mallorca and tried to become the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s president.
