The club are back in Champions League action
Barcelona take on Slavia Prague on Wednesday night in the Champions League and will be aiming to follow up their 2-1 victory over Inter Milan last time out with another win.
The club’s injury problems have eased and Ernesto Valverde will have an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, only Sergi Roberto is currently out with a knee problem.
Let’s have a look who could start the match in Prague:
Defence
Roberto’s injury means Nelson Semedo should start at right-back with Gerard Pique coming back into central defence after being banned for Saturday’s win at Eibar.
Samuel Umtiti started against Eibar and is now competing for a starting spot, but it’s more likely that Clement Lenglet will partner Pique with Jordi Alba at left-back.
Midfield
In midfield there are options if Valverde does want to freshen things up. Frenkie de Jong has played a lot recently but looks undroppable on current form and will get a rest at the weekend with the Clasico having been postponed.
Arthur and Sergio Busquets make up the rest of Valverde’s preferred midfield trio at present and should continue, while Arturo Vidal is the most likely man to come in if the Barca boss does make changes.
Attack
Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez were all on target for the first time in the same match against Eibar and are likely to continue together in attack.
However, Ousmane Dembele is also an option and could come into the team. The Frenchman is in the middle of a two-match domestic ban but is available to play in the Champions League clash.
Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; De Jong, Vidal, Arthur; Messi, Suarez, Griezmann.
