Rumors: Desperate Barcelona eye Lemar, Parejo and Di Maria on deadline day

The end is finally in sight!

Barcelona to turn to Lemar?

With just hours to go now until the close of the transfer window in Spain, Barcelona are now apparently considering a move for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.

According to the Mirror, the Blaugrana could make a move having seen Arsenal attempt to sign the French international in a £90 million deal.

Barca have apparently already ruled out signing Riyad Mahrez, leaving Lemar a possibility, although let’s be honest, it’s all getting a bit late now isn’t it?

Or is Lemar staying at Monaco?

Well it certainly is, according to Sport, who state that Lemar will definitely stay at Monaco despite all the speculation.

The winger spoke about his future following a superb performance for France against the Netherlands and insisted he was happy with the Ligue 1 champions.

Mahrez, Parejo or Di Maria possibilities

Over at AS it’s a different story altogether, as they report Barcelona will continue with their attempts to sign Philippe Coutinho.

However, at the same time, Barca will also be working on potential alternatives which include Mahrez, Angel Di Maria and Dani Parejo.

The report also states that Real Sociedad are also concerned that Barca could yet return with a deadline day move for Inigo Martinez.

Barca struggling to offload stars

As well as struggling to bring in players, Barca are also finding it difficult to trim their squad.

Marca report how a move to Tottenham for Andre Gomes broke down yesterday while the club are also finding it difficult to find buyers for Munir and Arda Turan.

Neither player is wanted by Ernesto Valverde but may now be set to remain at the club, unless a Spanish bidder can be found.

Mahrez to return to Leicester

Over at Sky Sports, the idea of Barcelona moving for Mahrez is given particularly short shrift.

Despite the whereabouts of the Leicester winger being unknown, after he was given permission to leave Algeria training to sort a move, he is expected to return to the Foxes.

The report states that Barca are not expected to make a late bid and that Leicester have not received any offers for the last three weeks.
