He was left a few thousand signatures short
Former Barcelona presidential candidate Agusti Benedito had admitted defeat in the vote of no confidence against Barcelona’s board. The deadline was Sept. 27 and he fell short of the 16,570 signatures needed.
Vice president Jordi Cardone was the one who set the deadline of Sept. 27 and despite the best efforts of those involved, they could only gather 12,504 signatures.
"If they had not violated the will of the socios, we would have had the third vote of no confidence in the club's history.
“We're not planning another vote of no confidence because it's a big effort, financially, too. Although it would not surprise me if someone else did because the reasons remain."

Benedito also made it clear that he used notary Jose Angel Ruiz Prado in the process to “verify, count and then destroy the ballot papers.”
So if you’re out there inside Barcelona and voted, you can sleep tight knowing that your name certainly won’t leak a few months from now.
