This season has been many things so far, but it has not been predictable. There are very few people in this world who could have predicted Barça would storm out of the gates with a 6-2 win over Real Betis on opening night in La Liga, and few would have guessed that we would escape San Mames with a narrow 1-0 win, courtesy of a header from Ivan Rakitic. No-one would have even joked about Alaves shocking the world and winning 2-1 this past weekend, so what surprising scoreline do the Blaugrana have in store for us tonight in their UEFA Champions League season debut?
If Celtic head coach, Brendan Rodgers, is to be believed, the surprise is going to be that Celtic extend Barcelona's misery by securing another shocking result at the Camp Nou, but this supporter feels as though a landslide home victory is a more likely outcome. Barcelona have a point to prove after stumbling in front of the world on Saturday evening, and typically, they tend to make statements in matches just like this.
The joy of having so many talented players on our roster is not only that we benefit from their skill, but we also benefit from their attitudes; they simply hate losing and being the superstars that they are, they are not used to losing very often. So, when they do, it motivates them perhaps more than anything else in the world -- that desire to reassert themselves again and prove the critics wrong, it's what Celtic might have to contend with tonight.
Do you see Barça making a statement tonight, or will the slump continue with a shock Celtic result? Predict the score by leaving a comment down below. As always, best of luck!
