You know that thing Arsene Wenger does, where he tries to sign players from Barcelona all the time? He's set to do it again, but this time with a guy who's even a Barça player yet.
That's according to the Daily Mirror, who reports that the Arsenal manager is weighing up a €19 million move to sign Celta Vigo star striker Nolito. The former Barcelona players has been heavily linked with a move back to Catalonia in the next transfer window, with the Blaugrana reportedly being the preferred destination for the 28-year-old.
Spain international Nolito - whose full name is Manuel Agudo Duran - has got a buy-out clause in his contract which expires in 2017. Gunners boss Wenger is looking to strengthen his strike force after being left frustrated in the transfer market last summer.
Wenger has now detailed scouts to watch 28-year-old Nolito and they are well aware of his contract situation and Celta Vigo may be ready to sell with his deal running down.
Nolito, who can play as a main forward or on the left, has been called up by Spain after scoring 13 goals in 36 games last season and has been catching the eye of scouts.
The Mirror also says that Barça's interest in Nolito has "cooled down", even though trusted sources all over Spain reported that there are conversations going on between both clubs and the player to work out a deal.
Ah, I love the Mirror. And stay away, Wenger.
