With Lionel Messi and Andrés Iniesta joining Rafinha Alcântara as long term injury absences, Barcelona is in desperate need of a midfield replacement. Because of the transfer ban imposed by FIFA, the club can't register new signing Arda Turan until January. But the Spanish Federation's rulebook does allow a special registration outside of transfer windows if a team meets certain conditions, like having long term injury absences... Just like Barça.
But FIFA rules the world of football, and they've reportedly forced the Spanish Federation (RFEF) to block Arda's registration, since the RFEF regulations are against FIFA's way of running things -- which is very corrupt, but that's fine. However, not only did the Spanish FA decide not to listen to FIFA, they will support the Blaugrana's request, which is set to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
According to Cadena Ser, the board of the RFEF met on Monday and agreed to help Barcelona with their quest to register the Turkish international, with FIFA currently suggesting they're against the RFEF's rules which would allow the registration to happen.
In declarations to Cadena Ser, Daniel Barroso, sporting director at Hercules, was quite clear.
"I don't understand why FIFA will not accept a rule which we have in the country. It's a rule which benefits a team in a league in which all members understand and accept. I don't know what the problem is," he said.

The report also says that 12 teams voluntarily showed up at the meeting to support Barça and their saga to, you know, do something completely legal that does not violate FIFA's ruling since that ruling doesn't apply anymore. The support from the RFEF is enormous, and we might have a good ending to this story after all.
