Report: Barcelona target Valencia winger as Pedro replacement

Barcelona's year-long transfer ban is now over, and the next transfer window is one that will certainly feature a lot of movement from the Catalan giants. According to many reports, and a statement from the sporting director, the club is looking to sign a new backup to the 'MSN' trio after the departure of Pedro Rodríguez to Chelsea. Coach Luis Enrique will invest playing time in youngsters Sandro Rodríguez and Munir El-Haddadi, but if they don't perform until January, there is a very high probability the Treble winners will get another forward.

Celta Vigo star Nolito and Dynamo Kyiv striker Andriy Yarmolenko have been the most linked names with a move to Catalonia, but a new situation is developing, and it's worth paying attention to. According to reports from Spain, Barça officials are monitoring the story of Sofiane Feghouli. The 25-year-old winger is one of Valencia's best players, but he has struggled to agree a new contract with his current club. He wants higher wages than Los Che are offering, and a new deal between the two parties is definitely in jeopardy.

If he doesn't sign an extension, Feghouli will walk away from Valencia once his contract ends next summer, and he could sign a pre-contract with any team six months before, or he could be bought for a very, very low price since his deal is so close to ending. The reports suggest Barça will decide which option to use depending on how Munir and Sandro do this season, but the most likely way to go is to sign him immediately, even if it involves paying a fee.

What do you think, Blaugranes? Is Feghouli a good option? If so, when should he be signed?
