The news on Lionel Messi are terrible.
The Barcelona superstar is out for at least two months with a torn interior ligament in his left knee, which forced him out of Saturday's match against Las Palmas. He sustained the problem just nine minutes into the game, and was taken to a hospital where the injury was confirmed.
Messi is certain to miss seven weeks, and if his recovery takes that long, he could miss the crucial El Clásico match against Real Madrid, in the middle of November. Until then, Barça will depend on Neymar Jr. and Luis Suárez to continue winning until the best player in the world returns, and if they can survive, maybe this dark season can finally start to be brighter.
This is simply awful. There's no way to substitute a player like him, and expect the Catalan giants to suffer tremendously until the Argentine is back. What a stupid season.
