Jordi Alba OUT of Celta Vigo match with injury; Douglas returns

Everything looked fine ahead of Barcelona's next game, but the injury bug has struck again.

Star left-back Jordi Alba has been ruled hours before the trip to the Balaídos for a match against Celta Vigo, the club announced on Wednesday:

According to FC Barcelona's Medical Services team, wing-back Jordi Alba is suffering from neck sorenessand has been ruled out for Wednesday's game in Vigo versus Celta. Alba's has been replaced on the squad list by the Brazilian defender Douglas, who has been medically cleared and activated for the game.

The good news there is that it's not a muscular injury, which is something that's haunted Barça's season so far. It's just neck soreness, maybe because Alba slept in an awkward position, which is totally possible. The bad news is we won't see the Gala XI making its first start of the season together. We'll have to wait.

But the bigger news is the return of THE LORD! Douglas Pereira is cleared from injury, and will be on the bench today. With Douglas' return, only Thomas Vermaelen and Claudio Bravo are out with physical issues as of right now. Of course, there's Rafniha, but he's likely out for the season.
