Real Madrid are to donate €1 million to aid refugees taken in by Spain, the Primera Division club have announced. Real have followed in the footsteps of clubs such as Bayern Munich and Celtic, who this week pledged to provide help to people affected by the refugee crisis.

In an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena SER, Perez admitted he had just closed the deal that will bring the promising footballer to Madrid, although he will not arrive until next summer. "He is only 17 years old and we cannot bring him until he is 18, but when he reaches that age he will be here," Perez explained.

Los Blancos announced via their official website on Saturday that they would donate €1m to support "the men, women and children who have been forced to leave their homes in order to flee war and death".
