Finally a good piece of news for Barcelona after weeks of injuries and suspensions.
A grateful surprise on Friday's training session ahead of the La Liga match against Levante on Sunday at Camp Nou was the presence of Dani Alves. The Brazilian full-back took part in the entire tactical practice, including the short field game Luis Enrique usually does in these types of sessions.
Alves has evolved well and his groin problem seems to be part of the past, and he could be medically cleared to return to action with the Blaugrana. Dani got injured in the first half of Barça's league debut against Athletic Bilbao almost a month ago, and the medical team decided to be cautious and not rush his recovery, and that decision paid off with the great performances of Sergi Roberto at that position.
Another good news from the training period was the return of Douglas Pereira, who is close to full fitness after suffering a hamstring tear in the second game of the preseason against Chelsea. The Brazilian will certainly get playing time with all the injuries and the thin squad Lucho has to work with.
As expected, Enrique called some Barça B talent that will likely feature in the squad list on Sunday, and it is a unsurprising name: Gerard Gumbau, a Lucho favorite, trained with the squad and will be the replacement to Rafinha Alcântara for the moment.
