Pep Guardiola says Bayern will "try until the very end" against Barcelona

Bayern Munich ain't feeling so hot.

After being killed by Barcelona at Camp Nou in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal, the Bavarians lost their third game in a row, this time to Augsburg at Allianz Arena. Debuting a new home kit for the 2015/16 season, The Reds were down one man and had numerous chances to win, but were surprised by the visitiors and lost 1-0 on a SICK backheel goal:

After the game, Pep Guardiola was asked about the second leg against Barcelona on Tuesday, and whether or not he belives on his team to overcome that giant deficit, and whether or not the physically demanding nature of Saturday's loss will have any effect on the players against the Blaugrana:

"We are the Bundesliga champions and we've had an extraordinary year, despite some difficulties. I've never had to solve everything based on courage alone nor have I ever told my players that we will have to be braver than our rivals. The only way we can make the final is by playing better than Barcelona and doing what we did in the second half [of the first leg]. Above all, we have to be more aware of what our offensive duties are and, after the game, the result will speak for itself."

"In a Champions League semi-final there is no such thing as being tired. We played well, we had more chances, and we dominated the game but we couldn't score. Here in Germany, just like against Barça, teams penalise you when you commit errors. On Tuesday our only desire will be to try until the very end."

Two things:

  1. Just trying might not be enough, Pep. Barça is just too good right now.
  2. Can one of MSN score a backheel goal like that, please? It would be nice.
