A chance to predict the score of tonight's La Liga clash between FC Barcelona and Deportivo La Coruna
Tonight will mark the end of an era, as an FC Barcelona legend, and arguably the greatest and certainly the most important midfielder of all-time brings his domestic European career to an end as Xavi prepares to make his final La Liga start. In fact, with two finals coming up, this may represent's Xavi final start, period, for FC Barcelona, his home for the past 24 years and even know, this fact hasn't really sunk in with this particular writer.
To imagine Barcelona without Xavi, and to imagine Xavi without Barcelona...it's sacrilegious, and even if Xavi no longer remains the all-conquering force he once was, he will always be "Barca" to me. That being said, this could yet prove to be an apt end to his illustrious career at the club; there's a strong possibility that Xavi will walk off into the proverbial sunset as the captain of a treble-winning side.
After all, La Liga is in the bag and based on Luis Enrique's rotation plans, the rest of the squad should be at 110% for the next two matches against Athletic Bilbao and Juventus; both will be tough encounters, but if we play to our best, then we should and can probably expect to emerge victorious.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves though; first we have to contend with Deportivo La Coruna, a side who are yet to secure their own safety in La Liga ahead of next season. They don't necessarily need a result to stay up, but a win would certainly guarantee their top-flight status and as such, one can expect them to come out of the gate firing on all cylinders.
