TO BERLIN!: Barcelona eliminates Bayern, Reaches Champions League Final

Destination: Berlin. FC Barcelona advances to the 2015 UEFA Champions League Final. Bayern Munich won the second leg 3-2, but Barcelona eliminated Bayern with a 5-3 aggregate win. Neymar's two goals in the first half ended any comeback Bayern had in them.

FC Barcelona will go for their fifth European title on June 6th at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, as El Blaugrana eliminated Bayern Munich on Tuesday night at the Allianz Arena.

Medhi Benatia grabbed a goal in the seventh minute via a header to give Bayern the 1-0 lead and hope for a comeback. Neymar opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 15th minute as a great through ball from Lionel Messi found Luis Suarez onside who pulled out Manuel Neuer from his position, and the Uruguayan found Neymar open for the easy tap-in goal.

Neymar made it 2-1 for Barcelona in the 29th minute as the Bayern defense left Suarez open, Luis then crossed it to a wide-open Neymar on the left, and the Brazilian put it past Neuer for the golazo.

In the 59th minute, Robert Lewandowski scored a terrific goal to level the scoreboard. In the 74th minute, Thomas Müller grabbed a goal to give Bayern the 3-2 lead. Still, Bayern needed three more goals after that. Credit goes to Bayern for the win, but this tie ended with Neymar's goals.

Pep

As I mentioned last week, this was business and not personal when it came to facing Pep Guardiola in this semifinal.

For me, the part I feel bad about is that now the media will once again attack Pep—not only for the elimination but also for everything that has occurred at Bayern and his name being mentioned in rumors of his exit over the last few weeks. I can't believe there are still people in the football world who question Pep's greatness. With this elimination against his former club, the media will once again question Pep's greatness. It's ridiculous. Pep motivated his team for the second half and deservedly won the match. Hopefully for Pep's sake, Bayern's win will hush some critics. It's not that Pep cares about his critics, but it certainly must be annoying to hear their poor questions during each press conference.

After the match, Pep said, "I want Barcelona to win their fifth Champions League, they deserve it. Best team in the world right now."

Neymar: killing off Bayern

What else can we say about Neymar?! The kid finished off Bayern in the second leg with his brace on the night. Let's not forget his goal in stoppage time in the first leg changed everything in the tie. Neymar grabbed a brace against PSG in the second leg to end the Parisians' run, and on Tuesday night, the Brazilian wonder's two goals ended Bayern's comeback chances.

Barcelona lost the match due to Suarez out? NO!

It's funny to hear and read the comments of some so-called Culés say that no Luis Suarez in the second half of the match was the reason Barcelona looked poor and lost.

I didn't know Suarez was the entire team. Stop it, fake Culés.

Barcelona was poor in the second half because they played poor, and that's it. It's not Suarez not being there. Neymar stepped up, but not in the second half; the same goes for Messi and others. Javier Mascherano had a bad match in the back line.

Saying Luis Suarez is the reason Barça lost the match is giving a pass to the rest of the entire team. The team was bad in the second half. Accept it, blame the rest of the players, and move on. Luis Enrique will get these guys straightened out. Lastly, Lucho himself needs to get his head on straight and not go with a double pivot again.

In my Fox Deportes piece a few days ago, I said the key man for Barcelona in Munich would be Luis Suarez. And on Tuesday, "El pistolero" was brilliant against Bayern. His ability to stay onside showed his concentration for the match as well as reading how the Bayern back line would defend him. Perhaps another player would be a bit selfish and take the shot, but not Luis. That's not how he's built. He saw Neymar open on both occasions and Suarez fed the Brazilian.

Marc-André ter Stegen put on a display for the football world that showcased the best of him. His saves were the reason a Bayern comeback never had a chance of happening. Let's look at the highlights from the best German goalkeeper in the world...yes, I said it.

Barcelona has reached the end of the road to Berlin.

There is still much work to be done in order to win a treble. But this roller coaster of a season has been one for the ages.

Hopefully on June 6th at the Olympiastadion, Futbol Club Barcelona will have a match and celebration for the ages.
