Four matches remain in this thrilling La Liga season, and FC Barcelona can move one step closer to securing the title this afternoon with a victory over Cordoba CF at the Estadio Nuevo Arcangel in Andalusia. A win for the Blaugrana would also consign Cordoba back to the Segunda Division; although there is a sense that today could prove vital in the title race as well, with Real Madrid facing a stern pre-UEFA Champions League test at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan against Sevilla FC, who remain undefeated at home.
If Los Blancos do go on to drop points, like every other side to travel to Sevilla this season, then Barcelona could open up a healthy gap of four or five points at the top of the table, affording them a little cushion that could prove to be enough with just three games left on the schedule after this Jornada.
The title is so close, we can almost touch it, taste the glory now...and after our recent demolitions of city rivals, RCD Espanyol and Madrid-based Getafe CF, Barcelona will be confident of their chances of extending their recent run of good form this afternoon. Could this be win 26 out of our last 28 fixtures?
Only time will tell.
