Four months ago exactly, FC Barcelona were in crisis. Luis Enrique's position as manager was under threat and there were suggestions that Lionel Messi was contemplating a switch to the English Premier League. In short, times were tough in Catalunya and it seemed as though there was to be no happy ending this season. Another year, another disappointment.
How times change, eh?
Fast forward to the present day and FC Barcelona are revered across the world as the "gold standard". Luis Enrique is the man of the monent, the genius behind arguably the best Barcelona side in recent memory -- and pending results for the rest of the season, possibly of all-time. Lionel Messi meanwhile has found his mojo once again; the exit rumours have been quashed in emphatic fashion and his performances on the field have inspired us to within touching distance of a famous treble.
We're so close...yet so far -- with five matches still scheduled to be played this season, Barcelona know that there a number of obstacles still standing between them and a place in the history books. First and foremost, there is Bayern Munich. We've all but climbed over this hurdle, but there's still an outside chance that our progress may hindered by the Bavarians.
Can the Blaugrana take care of business and become the first side to book their place in the final in Berlin? We'll find out in a couple of hours...
