But the midfielder vows to fight on
Frenkie de Jong admitted Barcelona were feeling pretty sad after throwing away a 1-0 lead against Granada and crashing to a costly 2-1 defeat.
Ronald Koeman’s men had looked set to go top of the table when Lionel Messi fired them in front in the first half, but a poor second half performance allowed Granada to score twice and take the win.
De Jong spoke to reporters after the match and admitted the team is feeling down.
“We’re very sad at the moment. It’s normal, and tomorrow will be the same. Then, we have to get up and continue to fight until the end,” he said.
“We have to keep working. In the first half we were good, and we continued to try to create danger in the second half, but it was difficult. They defended very well, and twice they shot, twice they scored.”

It’s undoubtedly a big blow but there’s still a lot of football left to play. Barca head to Valencia next and then welcome Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid still have games against Athletic, Sevilla, and Villarreal to come and also have a Champions League semi-final second leg tie with Chelsea to think about.
