The club are after a new left-back
The season is over and it’s a quiet week which might explain why Barcelona are being linked with Athletic left-back Yuri Berniche.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the club are looking for a new left-back and have been offered Osasuna’s Pervis Estupiñá but prefer Berniche.
The Catalan giants are “not convinced” about Estupiñán and while they like Berniche his €100 million release clause is likely to put him out of reach.
It’s pretty certain that Athletic are not interested in negotiating either, meaning Barca may not be able to bring in the 30-year-old to replace the 31-year-old Jordi Alba.
News that Barca are searching for a left-back does suggest Junior Firpo is off after just one season. It’s been rumored he will be part of the Lautaro deal if Barca can raised the funds.
