A January move is rumored to be on the cards
Barcelona left Jean Michael Seri heartbroken this summer after a proposed move to the Camp Nou fell through.
According to reports, the deal was pretty much done, only for Barcelona to have a last minute change of heart and decide against signing the midfielder.
Seri has admitted he was hurt by the events, blaming the collapse of the move on “financial reasons”.
Meanwhile, the midfielder’s agent has blamed Paris Saint-Germain for attempting to “screw Barca over” and Robert Fernandez says the club “thought it best not to sign him.”
Whatever the truth, Sport are now reporting that Barca will return for Seri when the transfer window reopens in January.
They report that the deal would be easy to complete, as Barca have already reached an agreement with Nice, and that the player would still be interested in a move.
Seri has certainly started the season well, as his latest stats from WhoScored.com show:

But whether the deal actually would be easy to get done remains to be seen, particularly after the summer, where Barca struggled to get any deals over the line easily.
Barca already have a host of midfielders on the books, and probably could do with trimming their options, rather than adding to them.
However, there’s no denying that Seri is a quality option, potentially available at a very good price, and clearly sees Barcelona as his dream club.
So should Barca go back for Seri? Or is it time to move on? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
