Barcelona twice rejected Dybala in favour of Coutinho - report

So this happened, apparently

The transfer window may have closed but that has not stopped the gossip which continues long after, with rumors of what might have been.

According to Spanish broadcaster, La Sexta, Paulo Dybala could have been a Barcelona player this summer, and was offered to the Blaugrana, not once, but twice.

Juventus were reportedly happy to allow Dybala to move to Camp Nou, and his representatives met Barcelona officials on August 17, to let them know the striker wanted the move. A fee of €120 million was also discussed at the time.

However, apparently Robert Fernandez then got involved to block the move as he wanted to concentrate on signing Philippe Coutinho, as he felt Dybala and Lionel Messi were incompatible.

It didn’t end there though, apparently Juventus made contact with Barcelona again, two days before the window closed, but again the Blaugrana rejected the advances.

It’s difficult to know how much truth there is to the report, but given how the summer went, nothing would really be too much of a surprise anymore concerning Barcelona.
