The full-back played a very good match against Córdoba, and he expects 2015 to be better, not only for the team, but for himself
Jordi Alba was one of the stars in Barcelona's 5-0 win over Córdoba on Saturday. His offensive showing was off the charts, and his defensive performance was on point, as always. He certainly contributed a lot to the win.
After the game, Alba spoke in an interview, where he analyzed Barça's win and talked about his expectations for the new year. Here's a few highlights of his answers:
"We got an early goal, then created plenty more chances. We went down a gear after that, but the second goal put us back on track".
"I don’t think any team comes to the Camp Nou for a stroll, that’s just an opinion from an opposing manager. When it was 1-0 they caught us on the counter a few times and we weren’t settled until it was 2-0".
"We usually play better at the Camp Nou. We have the misfortune of teams playing very defensively when we go to their grounds, but we have more space here. On the road, we sometimes struggle to get into their area, to get in crosses, to shoot…. But the team is responding well".
"I’m fine personally. My first season was very good, in the second I struggled with injuries and situations that were a bit uncomfortable. I have a good feeling about this year, I’m fast and settled nicely into the team. When we get back from our holidays, we need to carry on like this".
"The team was united and knew how to be strong. In 2015, we have to continue these good vibes. The fans and the players have to be united".
