The two players are out on loan
Barcelona take on high-flying Girona next in La Liga with the game meaning a reunion for loanees Eric Garcia and Pablo Torre.
Garcia has been a regular in the Girona backline this season and is free to face his former side, but Torre won’t feature at Montjuic on Sunday night.
Manager Michel, who has used Torre sparingly this season in any case, has explained the current situation regarding the Barca duo.
“Pablo Torre has a clause in his loan contract that does not allow us to play him vs Barcelona,” he told Cadena SER.
“However, as Eric was a last-minute move, they did not ask for the clause and he will be available.”
If Girona do want to play Torre against Barcelona then they’ll have to pay out 200,000 euros, something that looks highly unlikely as he’s yet to start in La Liga for his new side.
Barcelona come into the game after morale-boosting wins over Porto in the Champions League and Atletico La Liga.
Another victory on Sunday would see Xavi’s side close to within a point of Girona at the top of the table.
