The Barcelona B captain is set to be promoted
Francisco Trincao’s departure from Barcelona is reportedly set to be good news for B team captain Alex Collado who will be promoted to the first-team for the 2021-22 season.
Barca confirmed on Sunday that Trincao is heading off to the Premier League to spend the season on loan with Wolves after a tricky first year at the Camp Nou.

The Portuguese youngster’s departure means Collado will be rewarded for his impressive displays last season and make the step up to the first team, according to Sport’s Albert Roge.
Collado played a key role for Garcia Pimienta’s side last season after returning from injury as the team made it all the way to the playoffs before being defeated in an epic shootout against UCAM Murcia.
The 22-year-old has managed 16 goals in 77 appearances in total for Barcelona B, while he made his debut for the first season back in the 2018-19 campaign under Ernesto Valverde.

Collado hasn’t featured for Ronald Koeman yet but did have his contract with the club extended in March. His deal now runs until 2023 and includes a buyout clause set at €100m.
The youngster spoke about his future back in May and made it clear how determined he is to succeed at the Camp Nou.
“I’ve been here for 11 years and I’ve gone stage by stage knowing what you want, how to train, how to grow, and I am clear that what I want to do is continue to evolve here, and stay at Barça for a long time.
“I want to succeed at Barça. I have always wanted to be here and I am proud and grateful for the confidence that the club has given me.”
Meanwhile, former B team coach Garcia Pimienta said before his departure that he wanted to see Collado in the first team next season.
“Alex Collado has been making a difference for many seasons now. We are very happy for his connection with Barcelona for two more seasons. I would like to see him in the first-team next year and get a lot of minutes.”
Koeman should get a chance to check on Collado very soon with the team due back for pre-season checks on July 9 and 10 before a first training session of July 12.
Two friendlies have already been scheduled for later this month too. Barca play Nastic on July 21 and Girona three days later at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
