The duo have been told they can go for free
Barcelona have reportedly offered unwanted duo Miralem Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti the chance to leave the club for free this summer.
The Catalans are desperate to reduce the wage bill, to be able to renew Lionel Messi, and are willing to release the duo from their contracts. according to Mundo Deportivo.
Umtiti apparently isn’t too keen on the idea, despite interest from Marseille and Lyon, and remains keen to try and convince Ronald Koeman he’s worth counting on.
Pjanic is said to be thinking things over and is waiting to see if he can find a permanent transfer or a loan. Juventus, Inter and PSG have all been linked with a move.
Barca have already terminated midfielder Matheus Fernandes’s deal and don’t appear afraid to rip up a few more contracts.
Indeed the report reckons Barca could be about to get tough with a few more players ahead of the start of the new season.
Ousmane Dembele’s name is mentioned once more, following on from reports Barca could bench the Frenchman in 2021-22 if he does not sign a new contract.
